Position
Serving as Of Counsel to the firm, Mr.
Golden is currently concentrating his
practice in environmental law and general
litigation. Having represented
cities and towns on a variety of environmental
issues, he has also served as legal counsel
to individuals, nonprofit organizations
and environmental technology companies.
Mr.
Golden has thirty years of professional
experience as a federal official, a member
of federal and state advisory commissions,
an officer of various non-governmental
organizations, a city solicitor and a
state legislator.
As
City Solicitor for the City of Quincy,
Mr. Golden filed the lawsuit that initiated
the court ordered clean up of Boston
Harbor. During his six years as
a Massachusetts State Senator, he co-authored
or sponsored environmental legislation
relating to clean air, clean water, open
space, public utilities, mass-transit
and toxic and hazardous waste regulation. Mr.
Golden also served as statewide chair
of the successful 1986 Massachusetts
Hazardous Waste Cleanup referendum campaign
and as a member of two federal environmental
advisory commissions.
Mr.
Golden graduated from Yale University
in 1970 (BA), earned his law degree
from Boston University in 1974 (JD) and
was awarded an MPA from Harvard University
in 1981. He has received various
honors including a Silver Medal from
the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
and the David B. Stone Award which he
shares with fellow recipients, including
Walter Cronkite, Jacques Cousteau and
